Distributor software, compared honestly
If you run an FMCG distributorship you're probably weighing Marg, Tally, BUSY or Zoho against each other, and maybe against Distiqo AI. These pages compare them on what a distributor does every day. Every fact about another product links to that vendor's own page and was checked on 9 October 2026. Each page also says where the other product is the better fit.
1. Comparisons
- Marg ERP alternative for FMCG distributors. Read this if: You run Marg ERP 9+ today and want orders, dispatch, collections and GST filing in one cloud system you can use from your phone.
- Tally alternative for FMCG distributors. Read this if: Your accounts live in TallyPrime and the distribution work (orders, beats, vans, schemes) sits in add-ons, spreadsheets or WhatsApp.
- Zoho alternative for FMCG distributors. Read this if: You're weighing Zoho ERP, Zoho Books or Zoho Inventory and want to compare per-user pricing with a plan priced per business.
- Marg vs Tally vs BUSY for FMCG distributors. Read this if: You haven't picked any software yet and want the three common desktop options for distributors side by side.
- Vyapar, myBillBook and Khatabook alternative for kirana shops. Read this if: You run a kirana or retail shop, not a distributorship, and are choosing a billing and khata app.
2. In short: which kind of software fits
Established desktop software (Marg, Tally, BUSY) fits if you want a product installed on your own PCs that works without internet, a local partner who visits your godown, the accounting your CA already knows, or many years of releases behind it.
Zoho fits if you already run other Zoho apps, have only a few users, or only need accounting and GST.
Distiqo AI fits if orders reach you in many ways (counter, salesmen, WhatsApp, shops) and you want them in one queue; if you want orders, billing, godowns, dispatch, collections, accounts and GST in one system priced per business; and if you want to run the business from your phone, with the routine work prepared and a person approving anything that touches money or stock.
3. How to compare any distributor software
- Count where the hours go. If most of the day is accounts and GST, accounting depth matters most. If it's orders, beats, vans and collections, check what each product does for distribution out of the box, not through add-ons.
- Price the whole setup, not the licence. Add salesman apps, cloud access, WhatsApp messages and yearly renewals for your number of users and salesmen.
- Ask who supports you when something breaks, and how quickly.
- Check the phone. If you want to run the business away from the office PC, check exactly what each mobile app or cloud option covers.
- Check moving over. Ask how your items, customers, balances and books come across, and whether the old software can keep running alongside.
4. What Distiqo AI is
Cloud software that runs an FMCG distributor's whole business — orders, billing, godowns, purchases, dispatch, collections, accounts, GST, schemes and team — in the browser on a phone or a computer. In private beta. Orders from the counter or office, from salesmen, on WhatsApp (text or a photo, Hindi-English mixed included) and from shops on the retailer network, all in one queue. WhatsApp orders are read and drafted for someone to approve.
Beats with automatic beat generation, van loading, trips with drivers, delivery stops with returns and cash collected at the door, and Delhivery courier shipping. E-invoices and e-way bills through a GSP with your NIC login; GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B filed from the system with your OTP; GSTR-2A/2B matched to purchases automatically. Ask Distiqo AI questions in plain language, a Command Center, 60+ reports with Excel export, and a report builder that turns a sentence into a report.
Moving in: Export your items, customers, suppliers and books from your current software to Excel or PDF and upload them. Tally, Marg and BUSY exports are recognised automatically. Your old software can keep running alongside.
Not yet: Distiqo AI needs internet (no offline mode); there's no live two-way sync with accounting software, no voice-note orders, no GPS tracking of salesmen, and no cash-on-delivery courier shipments. It's in private beta and not security-certified yet.
5. Questions distributors ask
Is Distiqo AI an alternative to Tally, Marg or BUSY? Yes, for FMCG distributors. It covers the accounts and GST those products are known for, plus orders from every channel, godowns with batch and expiry, beats, vans, collections, schemes and brand claims in the same system.
Does Distiqo AI work offline? No. Distiqo AI is cloud software and needs internet. If you need software installed on your own PC that works without internet, Marg, Tally and BUSY are the better fit.
Is Distiqo AI priced per user? No. Plans are priced per business, not per user, so salesmen and staff don't each need a licence.
Can I move my data from Tally, Marg or BUSY? Yes. Export your items, customers, suppliers and books to Excel or PDF and upload them. Tally, Marg and BUSY exports are recognised automatically, and your old software can keep running alongside until you switch.
Can I use Distiqo AI today? Distiqo AI is in private beta. Join the waitlist and the team will contact you about access.
